Senior Business Analyst (AI Knowledge)

About the RoleOur partner is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in business and systems analysis, requirements management and Agile delivery to join their team working on AI-driven solutions. This is a hybrid role based in Lagos, Nigeria.
This role sits between business stakeholders and delivery teams. You will lead requirements work, map and improve business processes, and translate business needs into clear requirements for solutions that use AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI. You will work closely with product owners, developers, data scientists and AI engineers to make sure what gets built meets business objectives and delivers measurable value.

Key Responsibilities• Lead requirements-gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops and discovery sessions• Elicit, analyse, validate and document business, functional, non-functional and reporting requirements• Produce Solution Requirements Documents (SRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows and acceptance criteria• Map current and future-state processes using BPMN, swimlane diagrams and customer journeys, and recommend improvements• Identify business problems suited to AI, ML and GenAI, and define clear use cases and success metrics• Gather requirements for solutions such as chatbots, virtual assistants, predictive analytics, document intelligence, fraud detection and personalisation• Support Product Owners with backlog management, refinement and sprint planning, and make sure user stories meet the Definition of Ready• Review solution designs and support SIT, UAT and production readiness• Manage requirement changes and approvals, and maintain traceability and documentation throughout the project• Mentor junior analysts and support project reporting, risk and issue management
Required Qualifications• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in a senior capacity• Experience managing complex requirements across cross-functional teams• Strong command of requirements elicitation, user stories, use cases and gap analysis• Practical experience with BPMN and process-modelling tools such as Visio or Draw.io• Solid experience with Jira, Confluence and Agile delivery• Basic to intermediate understanding of AI, ML and GenAI concepts, including the model lifecycle (training, validation, deployment and monitoring)• Awareness of Responsible AI principles, including fairness, transparency, explainability, privacy and security• Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder management skills• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field• Able to work from Lagos on a hybrid basis
Nice to Have• Experience gathering and documenting requirements for AI-powered solutions• CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Agile Business Analysis or Scrum certification• Experience with data analysis and reporting
